It is easy to customise the general look of your shop and menus. To see the options that are available to you, go to Settings in the Manage area of your shop and click on Appearance.
You will be presented with three sets of choices:
- Shop design
- Content display preferences
- Product display preferences
Shop Design
Shop design preferences affect the overall look of your store. To see how the various options affect your shop click on Edit Shop Design. You will be presented with a wizard.The first step provides you with an opportunity to change your shop's colour scheme.
If you have an accessibility-enabled site you'll be able to choose from the below selection of accessible colors.
The second step affects your shop's display style. The Framed Page option will place your shop content within a clearly defined box. The second option floats your content within space.
The third option affects your menu and navigation styling. You can choose between our classic tabbed style, or choose a more minimalist text navigation.
The next options allow you to change the heading and body font within your shop. There are a range of options to choose from:
You can now choose a favicon. This the small image that sits in the tab on compatible browsers.
The last step is to pick what style of buttons you would like displayed in your store. There are several combinations of button designs to choose from.
Once you have made your choices click finish, then click on the Preview tab to check your new look Storbie Shop!
Content Display Preferences
Content display preferences affect the way that content is displayed, by default, in your store. You should choose the options that will be most common across your site and then override these settings on individual items in your store as needed. To see how the various options affect your shop click on Edit Content Display Preferences. You will be presented with a wizard.The first page allows you to edit the default page gallery layout.
The second step allows you to select the default option you would like for image cropping across your shop. To see the right size for uploading images click here. If you upload images of all the same height and width then NO crop will be best for you. If you have different sized images then go with an option which makes the majority of your images look good, you can always override this setting for each product gallery anyway.
Thirdly you can select the the default image border for your images.
Once you have made your choices click Finish.
Product Display Preferences
Product display preferences affect the way products are displayed in your store. To see how the various options affect your shop click on Edit Product Display Preferences. You will be presented with a wizard.
The first two options are defaults, which means that you should choose the option that is most common across your store. You can then override these settings if necessary on individual products and pages.
The first option allows you to set your default product template, you can either have a large image that fills the width of the page with any text sitting underneath it, or a smaller image with text wrapping around it.
The second step gives you the option to set your default layout for your product galleries.
On the third step you can decide if you would like to display a search box so your customers can search through your products, this is especially helpful if you have a large number of products.
The fourth step lets you set how many days one off products remain visible in your store once they're sold.
The final step in this wizard allows you to choose if you would like to display an enquiry button. Clicking on the enquire button will take your customers to a form through which they can contact you with queries about the item.
Once you have made your choices click finish, then click on the preview tab to preview your new look.
