The last entity you will need to create to have a functioning online bookings engine, whether for customers to book a paid service or other types of consultations is the service itself. The service entity is very similar to creating a product in terms of how you add a name, description, image, price, and tags.
1. In the Manage area, click on the Bookings tab
2. Navigate to the Services menu item
3. Click Create a new service
4. Add the services name. Click Next
5. On the services creation wizard, you can add comprehensive details of the duration of the service. First add the duration of the service itself
6. You can also add Padding before and after the Service duration itself. This allows for preparation time prior to the booking and time after booked out in case of overrun.
7. Select the Calendar/s you wish to be booked out by this service
8. Add the price of the service, or leave blank if the service is free
9. Enter a Lead in time – this is the minimum amount of time a service can be booked before the appointment itself.
10. Select availability, can this be booked any time that the selected calendars are available or is this service limited to another availability profile
11. If there a restriction on how many units of this service can be booked in a single cart transaction, you can add that limit here
12. Select whether tax is applicable to this service
13. Click Next
14. Now enter a description of the service itself. This description will be the information the customer views.
15. Click Next
16. Now to add the image you want to show against the service. You can drag and drop the image from your device or select an image that is already on your website.
17. Click Next
18. Add any tags you want against the Service. These will be used to populate product galleries going forward, the same way as tags are used to control product locations.
19. Click Next
20. In the Visibility tab, select your preferred visibility option
21.Click Finish
22. Publish changes to save. Your services are now ready to go on your site. Learn how to do that here.
