Cart discounts are promotions that apply a discount product prices if the customer's cart meets a certain set of conditions. For example, the customer may have to purchase at least $100 of goods before they get a free or discounted hat. 

Cart discounts can be used to provide an incentive for your customers to buy more products from you in a single purchase. 

Example - 3 for the price of 2

1. Go to the Settings tab in the shop management area.
2. Under Marketing Click on Promotions & Coupons
   
3. Click Add a cart discount.
4. Give the promotion a name.
   
5. Choose whether you want the discount to apply for a specific time period and click NEXT.
6. Choose some criteria that the cart needs to meet before the discount applies and click NEXT.
7. In the Product Discount step choose to sell 3 units for the price of 2.
   
8. Optionally, you can apply the discount only to products with a specific tag/s.
9. Test the discount by clicking on the preview button and adding products to the cart.
